A lot of web content isn't accessible, including 360 billion PDFs - 12% of all PDFs! This means that people who rely on screen readers cannot read them. We’re leveraging AI to fix the user experience of these sites and PDFs. Through Optical Character Recognition (OCR), users will be able to convert images to text, so that they can access and read them. Image to text will be available on Chrome browser in the coming months.

ChromeOS’ updated device setup wizard makes it even easier for new users to get set up. ChromeOS’ revamped flow now gives users more device customization options and more flexibility in how they complete device setup, making the onboarding experience smoother.
The new customization options -- touchpad scroll direction and display size -- help users to configure critical settings early on, easing their transition to a new OS. Even returning users that are already familiar with ChromeOS will find the revamp refreshing, as the setup wizard is now more streamlined and thorough, so that most of the necessary configurations are in place right away when they sign into a new Chromebook.

Adaptive Charging is a new ChromeOS power management feature available on some devices. Devices with Adaptive Charging enabled via Settings, charge to 80% and then complete charging to 100% based on an ML model’s prediction for when the user will unplug their device. Reducing the time a device spends at 100% charge helps preserve the battery's health and ability to hold a charge over the lifetime of the device.

To enable adaptive charging: Settings > Device > Power

If you do not see the feature toggle appear in Settings, it is not yet available on your system.
